The free models
- Whisper Tiny (76 MB): works in 97 languages. Fast, but the least accurate model.
- Apple On-Device: built into macOS, nothing to download in TranscribeX. It needs macOS 26 or later and supports 30 languages and regional variants. On clean English it was as accurate as Parakeet V2 in our test, so use it if your Mac runs macOS 26.
- Parakeet EOU 160ms: an English streaming model used only for live transcription.
If you pick a Pro model without Pro, the job fails with “<model> requires Pro.” Pro models don’t appear in the model menus until you activate Pro.

Is the free version of TranscribeX time-limited?
No. There is no trial clock and no cap on how many files you transcribe with the free models.
Is TranscribeX Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is $39 paid once, with lifetime updates.
Can I export SRT subtitles for free?
No. The free version exports plain text. SRT, VTT, PDF, JSON, CSV and Markdown need Pro.
