AI prompts are saved instructions you can send to the AI with one click while chatting with a transcript, such as “summarize this” or “write a follow-up email”. Manage them in Settings › AI Prompt.

Where prompts appear

Prompts are used in the transcript chat box, which is a Pro feature:

In the chat box:

The prompt runs against the whole transcript, or only one speaker’s lines if you picked a speaker in the chat box. See Chat.

Prompts here aren’t used for meeting summaries (those use the summary prompt) or dictation (see dictation AI polish).

Default prompts

Five prompts come with the app. Click a prompt’s row to read its full text.

PromptWhat it does
Summarize TranscriptA 2 to 3 sentence overview followed by bullet points of the core points.
Bullet Points SummaryA clean list of key takeaways, grouped under short headings for long content.
What did I miss1 to 3 bullets on the latest part of a meeting, so you can catch up and rejoin. Handy during live transcription.
Make me sound smartTwo on-topic, first-person questions or comments you could add to the conversation.
Write follow up emailA short, casual follow-up email focused on next steps, with placeholders for missing details.

The default prompts ask the AI to answer in the transcript’s language and not to add outside information. You can’t edit their text, but you can control them with two switches:

Add your own prompt

  1. In Settings › AI Prompt, type a name in New Prompt Title and click Add.
  2. The prompt opens under Your Prompts. Type the instructions in the text box. Changes save as you type.
  3. Turn on Recommended if you want it as a quick button in chat.

To rename a prompt, edit its title. To delete it, click the trash icon. To edit a default prompt, copy its text into a new prompt of your own, change it, and turn off the original’s Enabled switch.

Tip: You don’t need to paste the transcript into a prompt. TranscribeX sends the transcript to the AI along with it.
